Communications Director for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has confirmed that the Cape Coast Sports Stadium will host Ghana’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia.
Ghana will take on their Ethiopian counterparts in the first of six qualifiers at the Group stage.
The Ghana football Association have selected the Cape Coast Sports Stadium to host the Group opener which will be played on September 3.
With the Accra Sports Stadium not in the best of conditions, the Cape Coast Stadium in recent times have served as the home venue for the National team due to renovation works at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi and poor condition of the Tamale Sports Stadium.
The Stadium hosted Ghana’s Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Sudan.
