Gladson Awako has penned an emotional farewell message to Great Olympics after sealing a move to Hearts of Oak.
The 2009 U-20 World Cup winner signed a 2-year deal with Hearts of Oak for a fee reported to be around $15,000.
In a Twitter post, Awako thanked everyone at Great Olympics for supporting him during his stay with the club.
“It’s with mixed emotions that I am writing this message. To everyone at @AccraGtOlympics Football Club. The owner Mr Amakai who brought me here, to my teammates who helped me, to the staff who made my time here easy and to all you fans who made me feel special week in week out,” Awako wrote in a Twitter post.
“It has been an incredible journey and it is with great sadness that I must say goodbye. I will miss you all and wish you the best of luck for the future.’Thanks for everything”

Awako joined Great Olympics on a 2-year deal in November 2019. The mercurial midfielder was exceptional throughout his time with the club.
In the 2020/21 Premier League season, Awako scored 7 times and provided 6 assists in 30 games. He as well won 4 man of the match awards and the player of the month award twice.
Awako’s impressive performances earned him a call-up to the Black Stars, making his debut against Sao Tome and Principe in the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
