Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has gallantly thrown to the football fraternity not to sack the current head coach of the Black Stars coach despite bad performance which led to a one nill defeat to South Africa on Monday evening.
Agyemang Badu who played the national team for about nine to ten years shared his opinion on Max FM’s midmorning sports show about the rumours concerning the sacking of CK Akonnor.
Harve Renard, two times AFCON title winner with Zambia and Ivory Coast has tagged as a replacement for Coach CK Akonnor in a rumour.
The 30 year-old midfielder claimed “As I said earlier everybody has his opinion about how we see things but it is a collective thing. We know the players are always chosen by the coach and he also select people he thinks is comfortable to work with. The blame normally goes to the head coach when it comes.
“I’m not in the team right now, I don’t have a lot of details although I have people to talk with which is normal for a person like me who has played the team for about nine to ten years. Obviously I know some current works and some things going on in the team but right now I don’t know much about the team.
“I don’t think the timing is right because after three weeks we have qualifiers to play again. We are not happy about what is going on now but looking at the technical team and the head coach we should all blame ourselves including the coach, the FA and the supporters based on where the appointment is coming from.
“I think he can still do the job,” he said.
