The Warriors of Zimbabwe right back Tendayi Darikwa has withdrawn from their 24 man squad ahead of Tuesday’s clash against the Black Stars of Ghana due to family emergency issues.
The Wigan Athletic captain took part in yesterday’s 1-3 defeat to Ghana but he has traveled to the UK after the game, to attend to an urgent family issue.
“He will not travel to Harare for Tuesday’s return match at the National Sports Stadium and has been replaced by Zambia-based Nkana FC star Takudzwa Chimwemwe”. The Warriors team manager Wellington Mpadare confirmed to ghanasportspage.com
“The other UK-based players, Marvellous Nakamba, Jordan Zemura, and Brendan Galloway have been cleared to travel to Harare, as the British government removed Zimbabwe from the Covid-19 ‘Red List”. He added.
According to Mpadare the Zimbabwean Nation team will arrive in their country later today with an Ethiopian airlines.
The Warriors of Zimbabwe will host the Black Stars of Ghana for the return leg in Harare on Tuesday, 12th October 2021.
