Confederation of African Football (CAF) have declared that the game between the Walias of Ethiopia and the Black Stars of Ghana will be played in Kenya as a return league of the African qualifiers for the 2022 Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) World Cup.
The game was supposed to be played at the Bahir Dar Sports Stadium in Ethiopia but the stadium has been banned after failing to meet at least seven of its requirements including a substandard medical, VIP, Media centers as well as training facilities of the stadium are among the reasons for ban.
This stadium is where the Ethiopian national team played their matches including a 3-1 defeat to the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the ongoing World Cup qualifiers.
CAF declared that the match against the Black Stars of Ghana scheduled to be played November 11, would be hosted in Kenya.
The stadium is currently not allowed for hosting any international games including World Cup Qualifiers, CAF African Champions League and Confederation Cup matches.
This news can boost the Black Stars’ hope of qualifying to the FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars will have to beat South Africa and Ethiopia in order to get the green light to compete in the play-offs.
