The draw for the 2021/22 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Additional second Preliminary Round was conducted at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday 26 October 2021 at 11:00 GMT (13:00 Cairo Local Time).
One-time Champions of the competition Accra Hearts of Oak will be playing against Algerian side JS Saoura, a club from North Africa.
Hearts were eliminated from the CAF Champions League league by Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club after 6-2 aggregate scoreline in playoffs.
JS Saoura also defeated Concorde in the CAF Confederations Cup second preliminary round on Saturday by a 3-2 aggregate scoreline.
JS Saoura is the first club from the south of Algeria to participate in continental competition, and that was in 2017 in the CAF Champions League as the runner-up of the Ligue Professionnelle 1 and they eliminated in the preliminary round against Enugu Rangers and the first continental goal scored by Abderrahmane Bourdim.

Two years later, JS Saoura returned to participate in the same competition, where they qualified for the group stage with Al-Ahly, AS Vita Club, and Simba of Tanzania.
32 teams will be playing in the preliminary stage, 16 qualified teams from Confederation Cup second Preliminary Round and 16 losing teams from the Champions League second Preliminary Round.
The draw was conducted by the Head of CAF Competitions, Khaled Nassar and assisted by Egypt and Zamalek legend Ismail Youssef.
