The Chief of Yaw Barimakrom-Nyinahin Nana Osiaban Yaw Barima II must be a happy man now after hosting the Asante Kotoko team on their way to Bibiani to play Gold Stars tomorrow.
The Chief, known in private life as Yaw Mensah has for years been a top Asante Kotoko supporter and an executive member of the Circles, the supporters group of Kotoko.
He has held various positions in the Circles Council both Regional and at the National level and was until recently the National Financial Secretary, when he was enstooled as a chief in the town.
With Kotoko winning two matches out of the same in the current premier league,there is a goodwill feeling among the supporters and that extends to high profile people in the society.
While on a journey to Bibiani today, the Kotoko bus passed through the lands of Nana Osiaban and he duly stopped them, spent a few minutes with the team, and urged them to do their best in making Kotoko supporters proud. He also presented cartons of water and fruits to the team, much to the excitement of the players.
Stand-in captain Razak Abalora who received the items together with his colleagues thanked Nana Osiaban and said the players have resolved to chase after everything positive for Kotoko, thanking the Chief for his kind gesture.
The team continued their journey to Bibiani with an escort provided by Nana Osiaban who has expressed the desire to watch the match on tomorrow at Bibiani .
Goldstars host Kotoko at the Dun’s Park and are hoping to topple the league leaders by claiming all the three points at stake while Kotoko is in no mood to surrender the top spot now.
