Former vice president of the Ghana Football Association and bankroller of Susubribi Sporting Club has revealed on Akoma Fm’s sports show that he will resist any plan and the decision to play 18 clubs Division One League in Ghana.
“We will resist any attempt to reduce electoral college. I am a political animal. White must be seen to be white. The reduction will mean endorsement of the highest bidder politics.
“I am also against reducing the clubs to 18 because geographical considerations in our jurisdiction are very important. I disagree when anyone says no serious country plays a 48 team league because I am not playing a 48 league. I am rather playing an 18 zone league.”
The Ghana Football Association has indefinitely suspended its plans for the Super League competition following a meeting with Division One League Clubs on Friday, 17th December 2021.
The Ghana football governing body will organize a committee to review the current state of the aforementioned league within 14 days.
The Super League was scheduled for the 2022/23 football season which will be an 18 clubs competition.
