The AFCON 2021 will commence on 9th January, 2021 in Cameroon.
Ethiopia’s national football team on Sunday December 26 arrived in Cameroon as it readies for the 2021 African cup of nations. The Ethiopian team is the first of the 24 qualified teams for tournament that has arrived in Cameroon.
It will be the 12th time the one time champions will be competing in the Africa nations championship.
Initially, the team planned to book tickets for a preparation in Saudi Arabia but the trip was turned down due to the COVID protocols.
As revealed by the speaker of the national team, during an interview with Sir Martin, CEO of ghanasportspage.com the secret behind the team’s early arrival in Cameroon is to prepare well and also adopt the weather since they will playing in the AFCON.
“As you said we arrived in Cameroon earlier on Sunday. The secret behind is to prepare well in Yaounde and also at the same time adopt the weather since we are playing in the city. Previously we planned to go to Saudi Arabia and also at the same time at Dubai but due to the COVID protocol make it difficult to go.
“Every country coming to is aiming to win every match so as a nation and also we are the one of the countries aiming to win especially the open match because the first match are always important.” He said.
