Following their failure to beat Bechem United in their Ghana Premier League (GPL) match day 11 encounter at the Accra sports stadium on Sunday, Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu his side lacks something crucial which he must address with urgency for they club should return to winning ways.
Speaking after the game on Sunday, Boadu indicated that the team’s standard of play had dropped below expectations compared to how they played against Accra Lions (in the FA Cup) and Berekum Chelsea in their week 5 outstanding league match at the Cape Coast stadium.
Asked why Hearts of Oak struggled to even swing passes against Bechem United, Boadu admitted that that has been the problem for the team which must be addressed with urgency. “That is the problem we are facing now. It is a bad day because this is not how we play. The matches we played at Cape Coast compared to this one; this is not how we play”, he admitted.
Asked which aspect of the Hearts of Oak team needs to be improved, coach Boadu was quick to point fingers at the team’s inability to hold on to the ball and swing passes. He is as well worried about lack of precision in front of goal on the side of his attackers, a problem he intends to fix.
“We need to work extra on the finishing and the passing of the ball”, Boadu indicated.
