Former Ghanaian footballer, Samuel Opoku Nti has asked the Ghana Football Association to bring in ex-Ghana boss James AKwasi Appiah as an interim coach for the Black Stars ahead of the Nigeria game.
Opoku Nti insists coach Kwasi Appiah has a rich history with the national team.
James Kwasi Appiah became the first local coach to qualify the Black Stars of Ghana to the World Cup in Brazil 2014.
He made a great record after brushing off Egypt by 6-1 scoreline in Accra before the second leg in Cairo during the World Cup qualifiers.
The national team is in search of an interim boss after sacking coach Milovan Rajevac following the worse ever Black Stars’ performance at the recent AFCON.
Speaking in an interview on Happy FM, Opoku Nti explained, “We need to bring Kwasi Appiah back because he has a rich history with the national team. We need Kwasi Appiah for the Nigeria game after that we can open in for applications.” He ended.
The former Kumasi Asante forward made 45 appearances for the Black Stars and netted twelve goals between the years of 1981 to 1992.
