Oda Kotoku Royals grabbed a vital win to extend their long-term unbeaten run as they beat Akasti All Stars 1-0 in their Division One League Day 12 clash on Sunday at home.

The Royals came into the match with a 2-2 draw against Krystal Palace last week.

Starman Richard Dzikoe scored the only goal in the 76th minute after fighting hard to separate the two sides.

The home side has picked up 24 points from 12 matches as they sit at the second position on the league log, Akatsi All-Stars are also sitting at the 12 positions with 13points.

The visitors sealed a 2-1 victory over Inter Allies before crossing the Volta Lake to Eastern Region to lock horns with the Oda based-club.

After recess, Akatsi All-Stars pushed their men forward to create several goal-scoring opportunities but unfortunately, they could not bury any of the chances with the Royals holding on to win narrowly at the end of the 90 minutes.

The prolific attacker, Dzikoe Richard has scored six goals and three assists with four Man Of Match awards out of ten games for Kotoku Royals this season.

Dzeko’s reaction

“I will always thank the Lord Almighty for helping me to shine. Is all about hard work and am still focused to produce more. I will fight hard to qualify the team to the GPL but am ever ready for any GPL club.” Dzikoe said.
