Henry Asante Twum, the communication director for Ghana Football Association has lamented over the quality of football pitches in the Ghana Premier League and he sometimes feel sorry seeing some of the matches on TV.
The poor state of pitches across the country has been a major problem to the Ghana Premier League and have affects the quality of the game as many players suffer devastating injury which halts the career development.
Speaking to Kumasi-based Akoma FM, Mr. Asante Twum complained; “I feel sorry sometimes seeing some of our league matches on TV because the pitches are very poor and the optics don’t look good on TV.”
“Maybe we need to find a way to keep our pitches in healthy condition because it affects our product in terms of marketing.”
The second round of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season will kick this Friday.
After the first round, Kumasi Asante has cemented the lead with 35poits out of 17 games.
