The Referees Appointment Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed Gabriel Opoku Arhin as centre referee for Friday’s Independence Day ceremonial match between Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak in Accra.
Contrary to earlier reports in the media that referee Daniel Laryea was being named to handle the big game, the Appointment Committee has swerved all to name Gabriel Opoku Arhin as the man for the big occasion.
Opoku would be assisted by Ali Timuah Baah as Assistant I, Freeman Awuloo as Assistant II while Philip Arthur Forson serves as the Fourth official.
Moses Abaidoo Mensah has been handed a role as the Match Commissioner.
The match to be played between Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra sports stadium, will kick off at 6:00pm local time.
The President’s Cup is played on Ghana’s Independence Day in honour of the sitting President.
