In a letter dated March 14, 2022, and signed by the Administrative Manager, S. Oduro-Nyarko, the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has lauded a “Good Samaritan” gesture exhibited by Sekondi Hasaacas defender and captain, Abeiku Ainooson which has ensured that a man and his son (names withheld) were saved from death.
Abeiku Ainooson, who plays for the Ghana National Division One League (second tier) side Sekondi Hasaacas exhibited a commendable humanitarian gesture when he stepped in to save the lives of two persons known to be a father and son after they had been involved in a motor accident at the Mobik Filling Station near Takoradi.
The incident occurred on Saturday, 12 March 2022. Arriving at the scene coincidentally, the 29- year old former Asante Kotoko, Ashanti Gold SC defender quickly and unhesitatingly abandoned his personal scheduled trip to go to the rescue of the victims, arranged for their transportation to the Efia-Nkwanta Hospital in Sekondi, bearing all expenses to ensure that the lives of the duo were saved.
The gesture, as touching as it is, reached the notice of the GHALCA, and the Association has officially written to the defender, commending him for the kind gesture he has shown.
“The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHLACA) has learnt with deep satisfaction, your singular efforts of saving the lives of two persons (a father and his son) who were involved in a motor accident in the Mobik Energy Filling Station near Takoradi by abandoning your trip to Accra and taking the injured persons to hospital”, the letter read.
The letter went ahead to pat Ainooson on the back for his good deed, describing him as a ”Good Samaritan’.
“This humanitarian gesture and bravado deserves commendation and GHALCA wish to pat you on the back for being a “Good Samaritan”.
“May God almighty bless you for your show of love and kindness for the afflicted which is a shinning example for others to follow”, the letter added.
Abeiku Ainooson has been a great figure for the 1977 Ghana Premier League Champions in the zone two of the Division One League, since he joined the side in 2020 after his seeing out his contract at Kuwaiti side Al-Fahaheel Sporting Club.
