The Ghana Football Association has rescheduled the kick-off time for Hearts of Oak and AshGold GPL week 21 on Sunday.
This is due to the upcoming U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier clash between the Black Princesses of Ghana and Senegal.
The GPL game between the Rainbows and the Miners was initially scheduled for 3:00PM but it has been rescheduled to 6:00PM.
The Ghana U-17 Women’s national team will square off against Senegal at exactly 3:00PM at the Accra Sports Stadium in the second leg of the World Cup qualifier.
The Black Maidens defeated Senegal 1-0 in the first leg encounter of the FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
Princess Owusu scored the only goal of the game late in the 87th minute to seal victory for the Maidens ahead of the return leg in Ghana.
The second leg was scheduled to be played at the Cape Coast Stadium but the game will be staged in Accra due to the ongoing exercise(renovation) to host the Black Stars and the Super Eagles for the World Cup qualifier play-offs first leg.
The Maidens have never failed to make an U-17 Women’s World Cup since the competition’s inception in 2008 and are one of the most consistent teams in the world, making the quarter finals on the last three occasions.
The Women’s 2022 FIFA U-17 World Cup will be held in India from October 11, 2022, to October 30, 2022 and the Black Maidens will be looking to make their seventh straight appearance at the global stage.
