The fans of Accra Hearts of Oak have clashed on social media with diverse opinions on whether or the not the club should make a move to sign former Asante Kotoko right back, Samuel Inkoom.
Social media was awashed on Tuesday with news of the 32-year old defender’s appearance at the training grounds of the current premier league champions, sparkling rumors of a possible move to the capital.
Inkoom trained with Accra Hearts of Oak on Tuesday morning at the ST. Aquinas training Park following reports of an earlier failed move to Asante Kotoko in the course of the second transfer window. The news has generated mixed feelings among the fans of both Asante Kotoko, where Inkoom played between 2008 and 2009, and those of Accra Hearts of Oak.
Some fans of the Porcupine Warriors feel hurt by the development, claiming their former player has not shown loyalty to the club, should it be made official that he is joining their direct rivals.
Top of the news is the division that struck the supporters base of the Phobians, with majority favouring the idea of Inkoom joining the club on condition that he is ”ready and fully fit to play”, whiles others argued, that the player earlier wanted to return to Asante Kotoko and he was rejected, and can, as a result, not use Accra Hearts of Oak as an option.
Reacting to a question posted supposedly by a fan of Accra Hearts of Oak on a facebook page known as Phobia Sports News, which read:
“Do you think Hearts needs the services of Samuel Inkoom?”, the fans were very quick to respond with varied opinions backed by varied reasons, some of which are simply interesting and and worth reporting.
Below are screenshots of some of the responses from the survey on Samuel Inkoom’s purported move to Hearts of Oak:
