As part of preparations for this weekend’s FA Cup match against premier league side Elmina Sharks in Accra, Accra Hearts of Oak engaged a lower tier side Decent soccer Academy to get the team in shape for make or break tie against Sharks.
With the premier league title race almost over for them, the only way Hearts of Oak can avoid going trophyless by the end of the current season in June is to defend successfully the MTN FA Cup title which they won last season after defeating Ashanti Gold in the final on penalties.
Coach Samuel Boadu’s side brushed off the lower tier side with 8-0 victory to boost their morale ahead of the FA Cup tie against Sharks on Sunday, March 27 at the Accra sports stadium.
The friendly match which took place at the Apenkwa Astro Turf on Wednesday morning saw Seidu Suraj find the net four times. Franklin Owusu scored twice to make the score line 6-0 for Hearts of Oak before Amankwaa Baafi completed the damage with yet another brace to finish off the game with 8-0 scoreline in favour of the Phobians.
