Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Ibrahim Salifu has returned to action for the first time since January after sustaining what looked like a career threatening injury against Karela United in the premier league at the CAM Park.
The former Eleven Wonders star has been named on the bench in Hearts of Oak line up for the premier league match week 22 encounter against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park in Berekum on Wednesday afternoon.
Salifu has not played for Hearts of Oak since his injury against Karela in January, and he is expected to come off the bench in the course of the game to warm himself into a full return to action for the defending league champions.
Having sat out several games for Hearts of Oak, Ibrahim Salifu started light training at the early stages of this month, starting with personal runs, ball work and finally joined the group for intensive training as he stepped up his recovery.
Salifu has been a key member of the regular team for coach Samuel Boadu’s side and his return brings good news to the Phobian setup.
Hearts of Oak have traveled to Berekum to take on Berekum Chelsea for the premier league week 22 encounter which kicks off at 3:00pm at the Golden City Park.
