Following Ghana’s success during the World Cup play-offs against Nigeria, the Black Stars goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott has earned praises from many football loving fans.
After Ghana’s victory, Wallacott was applauded by the Nigerian tactician, Eguavoen for making some great saves to keep Ghana in race.
Ghana sealed a qualification for the World Cup after a 1-1 aggregate scoreline against the Super Eagles. They drew 0-0 in the first leg held in Kumasi but played out a frantic 1-1 draw in Abuja to qualify due to the away goal rule.
Goalkeeper William Amamoo who represented Ghana at the national level between 2008 and 2010 believes the Swindon Town shotstopper will be the future of the Black Stars.
Speaking on Accra-based Original Tv, Amamoo said; “As I always say concerning the Ghana goalkeeping, Jojo Wollacott is a kind of a goalkeeper who is the future of the Black Stars. Currently, checking at his performance in the qualification play-offs, for me I think he is the future of the Black Stars.” Amamoo told Richmond K Entsie on Sports Punch Show.
The English-born goalkeeper, Wallacott earned his first call up in October last year during a game against Zimbabwe. He was kept in the goal post as a number one and he was criticized after the AFCON due to Ghana’s poor performance but he returned to prove his critics wrong.
Amamoo also claimed that maintaining this Black Stars players for about two years can help Ghana to have a great team than the 2006 and the 2010 squad.
