Kumasi Asante Kotoko have regained their bragging right from their city rivals, Kumasi King Faisal after a 1-0 victory courtesy Ibrahim Imoro in a week 23 fixture of the GPL.
A 3-2 loss in the first fixture saw the Porcupines ending their 5-match winning streak at the birth of the campaign before another defeat to their city rivals in the FA Cup.
In today’s fixture, the away side took the lead at the fourth minute, through the stylish left-back Imoro Ibrahim.
After the 90minutes of soccer action, the only goal from the stylish defender guided Kotoko to restore a superiority and a bragging right over their noisy neighbours.
The defeat leaves King Faisal at the 11th position with just 29 points but the Porcupines are still topping the league log after extending the leadil to 49 points.
They are now going to prepare for the third version of a Super Clash against their sworn-rivals, Hearts of Oak at the same venue on week 24 whiles King Faisal takes on Berekum Chelsea in outstanding fixture.
