Premier league side West African Football Academy (WAFA) have responded to the growing reports which have been claiming that the club’s captain, Konadu Yiadom has signed for Accra Hearts of Oak.
The WAFA captain has once again emerged in the headlines since Thursday, that he has completed a move to the Accra-based side, and is set to be unveiled along with former Asante Kotoko right-back Samuel Inkoom, who has signed with the Phobians on a one year deal.
“Welcome to the Capital club and the best club in the country Konadu Yiadom and Samuel Inkoom. Phooooooooooobia never says die until the bones are rotten”, Accra Hearts of Oak supporters wing NCC Public Relations Officer, Jones Mfodwo Asante wrote on his official Facebook wall on Friday.

Another Hearts of Oak fan page on Twitter also claimed, that the club’s Board Member, Alhaji Brimah Akambi has confirmed that Konadu has signed a pre-contract with Accra Hearts of Oak, and would be joining the club at the end of the season.
“Konadu Yiadom has signed a pre contract agreement with Hearts of Oak- Alhaji Akambi on #wontumiSports“, the tweet said.
Reacting to the rumors, Selorm Fiador, Supervisor of Administrative roles at the WAFA Youth side, who also plays and oversight roles at the senior team, denied knowledge of the said move, and insists that the 21-year old defender is still under contract with the Sogakope based side.
“No, that one I can tell you categorically that it’s not true”, Selorm told ghanasportspage.com in an exclusive interview on Friday. The boy hasn’t signed any contract with Accra Hearts of Oak, and he is still within contract. His not out of contract”, he stressed.
Konadu Yiadom has been on the radar of Accra Hearts of Oak for months, and was deemed to have been close completing a move to the club during the transfer window in January, but the much talked about deal never happened.
As at the time of filing this report, we gather, that Konadu Yiadom traveled with WAFA to Obuasi for the club’s premier league match week 24 match against Ashanti Gold SC which is scheduled tomorrow, Saturday April 9, 2022.
