The title race in Zone Three of the Division One League is getting keener as many as four teams continue their push for the single promotion slot with just about three matches into the end of the season.
Akyem Oda based Kotoku Royals leads the pack with 56 points, one point above second placed Tema Youth and Liberty Professionals who are tied on 55 points after 27 League matches. The leaders (Kotoku Royals) climbed to the first place after winning protest against Hearts of Lions for using unqualified player.
They were awarded three points plus three goals.
Speaking to Ghanasportspage.com, Dzikoe Richard, the deputy captain of the team after winning the protest to climb he indicated, “For now we’ve gained three points but we are taking it match after match. God willing we will play Nania FC at home on Sunday and our mindset is to win because we haven’t conceded a defeat at the Oda Sports Stadium since a 1-0 defeat to Hearts of Lions. We will make sure to open the gap after the game against Nania.” He stated.
“Our zone is tricky all because Tema Youth, Liberty Professionals and Inter Allies have played in the Premiership before but we are yet… and we are organizing things well to register our name in the GPL. For the past two seasons, we came close during the Normalization and the COVID time. We were on top but we couldn’t make it due to one or two things. This has motivated us to make it possible this season.
“Let’s take it match after match but we believe that Kotoku Royals will qualify for the Premiership.”
Dzikoe known as Oda Vinicius has scored ten goals, made four assists with four Man Of The Match Awards in eighteen game this season.
