Hearts of Oak forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has been recalled into the senior national soccer team, the Black Stars of Ghana for the four mini tournament in Japan.
The former U-20 captain was one of the two local players initially called for the Madagascar game before they were dropped prior to the trip to Angola for the Central African Republic clash on Friday, June 3, 2022.
The young attacker will make a move alongside Kotoko goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad to join the team for the mini tournament. However, his compatriot Dennis Korsah is already at the camp of the Black Stars.
Afriyie Barnieh is expected to make his debut for the national in Japan as part of preparations for the upcoming World Cup.
Ghana will compete with Tunisia, Chile and Japan which is scheduled for 10th June to 14th June.
The four-time African champions commenced their AFCON qualifiers on last week Wednesday, picking the maximum points after beating Madagascar by 3-0 before they were held to a 1-1 stalemate on Sunday with The Wild Beast of Central African Republic.
