Bono Regional-based Nsoatremang Football Club have qualified into the Ghana Premier League for the first time after beating Tamale City 2-1 in the Division One League (Zone 1) play-off at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Nsoatremang came upfront with the lead courtesy of a Samuel Ofori’s goal.
After going down in the game, Tamale City bounced back with the much needed early equalizer from Bismark Asare as he scored from the spot following a penalty decision by Referee Daniel Laryea.
The two Zone 1 giants battled out to the 90 minutes with a 1-1 scoreline and the result saw them playing an extra time to determine the champion.
The additional 30 minutes was good for Nsoatremang as Charles Asante puts them back in the lead with a superb low strike from over 20yards.
The 2-1 victory means Nsoatreman will play in their debut Ghana premier league next season alongside their Division One opponents Kotoku Royals from Zone 1 and Samartex from Zone 2.
Congratulations To Nsoatremang Football Club for the historic GPL promotion.
