Former Asante Kotoko CEO Mr. Herbert Mensah has passed his comment following the resignation of the Porcupine Warriors coach Dr. Prosper Ogum Nerty.
“Prosper has resigned as Head Coach from Kotoko after only one season. Hopefully, his departure was amicable especially after winning the league! He must be commended for helping Kotoko win the league with the support of Nana Yaw and the playing body.
Prosper recognized the support he received from Nana Yaw when he said in June this year “He’s an amazing CEO. He takes his time to engage you as a coach concerning what you have to do. He also believes in reasons- Why we must do it this way and not that way. I think it has helped,’’ Ogum told StarTimes in a post-match speech.”
‘‘He is a distinguished gentleman, he knows his job as a CEO, he’s more abreast with the modern trends in the game- I mean how to project a team like Kotoko to be compared to the likes Al Ahly, Zamalek, and what have you. That’s his intention and that’s exactly what he’s doing.’’
Kotoko is bigger than any one person though and as they say there were people before and there will be people who come after he has gone!
Nana Yaw has the opportunity to bring in and restructure the technical side of Kotoko for Africa and for next season. He is the CEO and subject to Board support and funding Kotoko will take another step forward!
We must wish to Prosper all the best and hope that the timing of his departure does not affect plans Kotoko has”. He ended.
