Evelyn Nsiah Asare, CEO of Hasaacas Ladies and board member of Asante Kotoko has endorsed the policy of equal winning bonuses for both male and female at the national teams.
The Porcupine Warriors board member and the CEO of Hasaacas Ladies wants the Ghana Football Association to emulate the just announced policy of the SAFA President Danny Jordan.
The president has announced days ago that the South Africa’s men’s and women’s national football teams will receive equal payment and bonuses in the wake of the unprecedented success achieved by the women’s team following the conclusion of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Madam Nsiah Asare insists the GFA should outlaw pay discrimination and embark on a programme to bridge the gender pay gap.
Speaking on Atinka FM’s Total Sports with Edward King Akuffo she said, “Even women deserve to be paid more than their male counterparts. Black Queens were the first senior national team to qualify to the world Cup. SAFA President Dany Jordan confirmed that it’s time South Africa Bayana Bayana will get the same bonuses as the Bafana Bafana are paid. Both are playing for 90 minutes”, she ended.
In September 2020, the Sierra Leonian government and the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) also announced that both the men’s and women’s teams will receive equal pay to motivate more women to get into the game in the West African country.
