The Black Galaxies of Ghana have earned praises from the team’s management committee chairman, Dr. Tony Aubynn after securing a double win in the first round of the CHAN qualifiers over Benin.
Tony Aubynn has however, picked the current Local Black Stars ‘Black Galaxies’ as the greatest ever Ghana’s CHAN squad.
The management committee chairman insists the Black Galaxies did a great job over Benin in their double header.
Ghana has played at the finals of the competition twice, 2009 and 2014 but the team has failed to play in the last three editions.
Despite the array of great Ghana teams of which the nation has produced, the chairman of the Black Galaxies management committee believes the qualities of the current squad are phenomenal.
“The Black Galaxies is the best CHAN team Ghana has assembled for any competition.
“The players and the technical handlers led by Coach Annor Walker and his assistant, Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum are super.
“The Black Galaxies will do everything possible to qualify ahead of Nigeria in the final round of the qualifiers and surely they will get the nod to join the host nation Algeria in 2023,” Tony Aubynn told Edward King Akuffo on Atinka FM’s Total Sports.
Ghana will play against their West African neighbours Nigeria in the final round of qualifiers later this month.
They team recorded a 3-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium before snatching a late win at Cotonou to end the tie 4-0 on aggregate.
