Veteran Ghanaian dancehall musician, Shatta Wale has urged Black Stars of Ghana youngster Felix Afena to keep on working hard in his career.
This comes after the talented attacker had jammed to Shatta Wale’s hit song ‘On God’ in Italy during a pre-season wrap-up game against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 19-year-old striker played Shatta Wale’s hit song in the background as he majestically walked onto the pitch to join his teammates during the team’s presentation at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Italian Serie A outfit AS Roma wrapped up their pre-season campaign with a 5-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk and also the official presentation of the squad to the 65,303 fans packed into the arena to participate in the event.
Afena-Gyan featured in the game when he was introduced on the 80th minute as a replacement for newly-signed Argentine attacker Paulo Dybala.
Before the commencement of the match, AS Roma players were presented to the fans and they were asked to pick a song for their presentations.
Afena-Gyan, who earned promotion to the club’s first team last season, opted for a song from Ghanaian dancehall musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale for the presentation.
The ‘On God’ track from Shatta Wale is a song that clearly reflects the life of the dancehall genius, who has come a long way in the music industry to reach the apex despite the struggles.
Shatta Wale himself was impressed with the performance and the post as he appeared on his official social media handles to show appreciation to the Ghanaian youngster.
“Top striker, Felix Afena Gyan, I see you!
Keep the hard work, whilst you jam to my songs, I love you” – Shatta Wale stated.
