A late goal saved FC Samartex from defeat against Young Apostles in the ongoing Division One League Super Cup group B opener in Kyebi.
Both teams started in a high spirit but Young Apostles snatched an early lead on the 21st through Kwame Aboagye’s strike.
The newly-promoted GPL side, Samartex FC struggled to get an equalizer. They finished the first half with a defeat.
It took them 67 minutes before Kwame Aboagye scored the equaliser in the second half to hand them a share of the spoils during the 88th minute.
The two sides are having one point each in group B of the Super Cup.
Samartex will hope to record a positive result when they face Tamale City in day 2 whiles Young Apostles also aim for glory against Tamale City on Saturday.
