The spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum has highlighted why the football governing body has moved beyond going into sponsorship packages and getting a sponsor for the upcoming season’s local top-flight league.
This follows the conversation and questions about the benefits of the new headline sponsors of the Ghana Premier League, BetPawa.
According to the Communications Director, the GFA had so many sponsors including the just recent ones, GLO and Zylofon Cash, but the association didn’t and cannot pinpoint any benefit from these sponsors.
Whiles speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Otec FM, he said; “I’ve followed Ghana football for over 25 years now, we’ve had so many sponsors including the just recent ones, GLO and Zylofon Cash, but the GFA didn’t and cannot pinpoint any benefit from these sponsors,” Henry stated.
“Are we always going for sponsorship because we have to get a sponsor? No! The FA has moved beyond going into sponsorship packages just because we must get a sponsor. Legacy is of the essence. Through this sponsorship, a chunk of the money is going into player welfare(Locker Room Bonuses). He added.
