The Board Chairman of Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV has revealed why the head coach of the Rainbows Samuel Boadu resigned from the Ghana U-17 as the deputy manager.
The one time FA Cup winner was appointed by the Ghana Football Association to assist Abdul Karim Zito.
Few days later, Samuel Boadu altered a resignation to the Ghana Football Association [GFA] as he claimed to concentrate on his job as the head coach of the Phobian Club.
The ex-Medeama SC gaffer came under pressure after failing to defend the Premier League title, having finished on the 6th position with 48 points.
Boadu, however, led the side to win the FA Cup against Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Togbe Afede, the board chairman of the GPL giants says it was a right decision taken by the 35-year-old trainer and they cannot share their gaffer with the national team.
Speaking at the club’s meeting with the Kumasi-based supporters, Togbe Afede said, “Of course, you know that he(Samuel Boadu) was successful that’s why they (Ghana Football Association) wanted him at the national team level, but we said no.
“Hearts is a champion club and we can’t share our technical leader. We can’t share our technical head with any other team just like Real Madrid will not do that, Man U will not do that, we can’t do that.
“We want our technical team to devote hundred and ten percent of their time to Hearts of Oak,” he ended.
The Rainbows will play as an away side this weekend to Aduana Stars in the GPL opener in Dormaa.
