Head coach for AS Real Bamako, Nouhoum Diane has reacted to their game against Accra Hearts of Oak.
The Malian club will host Ghana Premier League giants next weekend (Saturday, 8th October 2022) in the first leg encounter of the CAF Confederations Cup second preliminary round.
They come into the game after frustrating Burkunabé side, AS Douanes with a 0-0 draw, having progressed with a 3-1 victory on penalties.
Ahead of the game against Accra Hearts of Oak, Coach Nouhoum says his team has the qualities and ambition to progress into the next round of the competition.
Concerning preparations for the game, according to the gaffer, the Malian side is well prepared.
However, the Rainbows will also seek to redeem themselves after last season’s humiliating performance in both competitions (CAF Champions League and the Confederations Cup) but the Malian tactician is optimistic about knocking out the Ghanaian giants.
Tensions and stakes will be high as the Malian tactician gear up to welcome the one-time champions of the competition.
Such games are often heated, dramatic affairs but there is more than just pride on the line this time around and the Malian side looks favourites despite failing to score against the Burkunabé side.
Real Bamako is flying high with one defeat in nineteen games, while Hearts have managed to pick one win in nine games.
Speaking to the Ghanaian portal, Ghanasportspage.com the tactician said, “Compared to preparations I think it’s okay after the first one we played, some adjustments were needed.
“We are not afraid and it remains a football match. We have a young team with qualities.
“We don’t know how things will turn out but we have the ambition to qualify. Regarding just a few issues, we hope to recover them as soon as possible.
“We have quality players and some experienced players and the strategies will see us through. You know how much we have ambitions since it is a football match. The most important thing is to qualify.
“In relation to injuries, no, you always have to get plan B. We hope it will be a good match, may the best win,” Nouhoum Diane said.
