• In spite of picking the much needed win, Hearts of Oak coach, Slavko Matić has admitted that his boys felt pressure in the second half.
Afriyie Barnieh’s lone goal was enough to see the former champions overcome the newly-promoted side, Kotoku Royals by a goal to nil at the Cape Coast on week five of the BetPawa Premier League.
They went into the game following their 2-1 comeback win against Bibiani Gold Stars last weekend at home but they struggled before getting a 30th minute goal on Saturday to record back to back victory for the first time this season.
After the game, the Serbian tactician admitted that his boys felt some pressure and they must work on it.
When questioned about the team’s performance, he responded, “I think first half was something how we wanted to play. The guys still felt some pressure in the second half. We’re working on it. We must play more with the ball like we played in the first half. We got chances in the first half and we changed the formation in the second half to what I don’t like but what is necessary for the team is that we made it. For better performance and what I want to see is running more with the ball,” Slavko told StarTimes.
The win moves Hearts of Oak to 5th place on the league log with 8 points from five games, while Kotoku Royals are 14th with 4 points.
They will play host to Karela United on week six at the Accra Sports Stadium.
