Hearts of Oak are open to selling Daniel Afriyie Barnieh before his contract expires and the Black Stars forward could be set for a move to Europe, with Ghanasportspage.com reporting that the Ghanaian giants are not against the player’s decision.
The report states that the 21-year-old attacker’s idea of traveling abroad in search of a greener pasture has become more appealing.
Hearts of Oak committed a huge amount of money towards Barnieh’s contract extension but former U-20 captain is not willing to stay according to reports.
Now the club have made Barnieh their main man and his decision to leave the club appears to be a big blow to the Phobians.
“We have approached him several times to extend his contract but he is yet to… It is very difficult but we have to give him the green light now. Although, we have one month to conclude the talks and we would love to see him playing for us next year and the Black Galaxies at the CHAN tournament as well. We have tabled a “final offer” of a contract extension to him and let see what happens next,” close source from the club told Ghanasportspage.com.
Barnieh has proven his quality, coming up through the ranks of the Black Satellites, helping the Black Galaxies to qualify for CHAN.
Barnieh has been successful in winning the Premier League, two FA Cup trophies, and the Super Cup. He is currently with the Black Stars of Ghana for the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
His contract with the club ends on December 31, 2022.
