Report from the Ghanaian football fraternity has claimed that one of Black Stars players has left the team’s Whatsapp group after Ghana’s elimination from the competition as confirmed by Ghanaian journalist, Bright Kamkam Boadu.
According to the renowned broadcast journalist, one of the six unused Black Stars players has explosively exited the players’ WhatsApp platform over lack of playing time at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana, 2010 quarter-finalist, finished bottom of Group H with just 3 points and a goals deficit of -2, having scored 5 times and conceded 7 with a cumulative 11 minutes spell at the Mundial.
Out of the 26-man squad named for the tournament, 21 were unused with the rest getting no game time.
The five unused players were Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Danlad Ibrahim, Kamal Sowah, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen, Joseph Aidoo, and Elisha Owusu.
According to claims made by Kankam Boadu on the Pure FM Sports programme on Tuesday morning which Ghana Sports Online cannot independently verify, Kamal Sowah is the player who has angrily exited the virtual common room due to his lack of game minutes at the tournament.
The claims have further been fueled by tweets from broadcast journalist Muftawu Nabila who wrote that the Club Brugge offensive midfielder cannot hold the Black Stars to ransom.
Benedict Owusu of Asaase Radio also tweeted that the former Leicester City youngster is likely to turn down future call-ups.
