Former Kunasi Asante Kotoko and Ashanti Gold defender, Richard Osei Agyemang has shockingly revealed that no Ghana Premier League player can boast of 50,000 cedis in his bank account for playing in the league for about 5 to 6 years.
The Ghanaian defender made this revelation via Wontumi Sports following his move to Indian side, Real Kashmir.
“No Ghana premier league player can boast of 50k cedis in his bank account for playing in the league for about 5 to 6 years, no one. I decided to play in India because of money, the GPL can’t afford my needs.”
Agyemang previously plied his trade for demoted Ghanaian outfit Ashanti Gold SC, based in the gold mining town of Obuasi. He made over 50 appearances across all competitions for the club, scoring two goals in the process.
Agyemang also played for Bono-based team Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League during the 2014/15 season, helping them to place 4th. In the process he made 17 league appearances and won 4 man of the match awards.
