Kotoku Royals returned to winning ways with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the BetPawa Premier League.
Dzikoe Richard and Andy Kumi’s brace saw the hosts take all the three points despite goals from Laar Ibrahim and Abednego Tetteh.
Kotoku Royals took the lead after 32nd minute through Dzikoe Richard. Andy Kumi doubled the lead five minutes later to end the first half with a 2-0 lead.
Gold Stars responded when Ibrahim Laar neatly converted from the spot after 58th minute in the second half.
Andy Kumi completed his brace to extend the lead for the bottom-placed side during the 72nd minute.
Bibiani Gold gained advantage in the late minutes and were pressing the hosts deep. Their second consolation did eventually come after 85th minute courtesy of Abednego Tetteh.
Despite the pressure from Gold Stars, the Royals managed to run out 3-2 winners.
The visitors have dropped to fifth with 23 points, while Kotoku Royals remain bottom with only ten points after fifteen games.
Kotoku Royals will now rely on Dzikoe Richard and Andy Kumi’s combination upfront.
The club’s all-time top scorer, Dzikoe has scored three goals in their last six games. Andy Kumi has also recorded three goals in his first two Premier League goals for the club.
