Accra Great Olympics have appointed former Karela United boss Bismark Kobby Mensah as the club’s new head coach on February 16, Ghanasportspage.com can confirm.
The young tactician will now take over from Yaw Preko, who was dismissed on Wednesday.
Mensah, a member of the Black Galaxies technical team parted ways with Karela United after just eight matches into the current campaign.
He joined the ‘Pride of the West’ two seasons ago as replacement for Evans Adotey.
His ingenuity helped Samartex to finish third in Zone II of the Division One League; nine points behind champions Bibiani Gold Stars.
Mensah is regarded as one of the best coaches in the local league after helping Karela United to finish fourth in the 2021/22 Premier League season.
His appointment could create a new environment for the team to impress in the second round of the season and will be hoping to bring his tactical ability to the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Wonder Club, who currently sit tenth on the league table, will make a trip to play Bechem United on Sunday.
They are winless in their last three games following a defeat to Accra Lions and Nsoatreman FC – and a draw with Dreams FC.
