Francis Andy Kumi and Dzikoe Richard scored again, joining Augustine Boakye and Paul Abanga to seal a 4-2 win over King Faisal in the BetPawa Premier League on Friday after last weekend’s painful 1-0 defeat to Accra Hearts of Oak. Andy Kumi and Dzikoe are the only active scores for the relegation battling side, who rank among the top five scorers in the ongoing campaign with seven goals each.
High on confidence, the hosts started strongly and bossed the opening spell of the game.
They drew first blood in the 13th minute, with Andy Kumi scoring his seventh goal of the season.
King Faisal almost came up with an instant response but Bature missed a great chance to get the visitors back in the game.
Having dominated proceedings, Augustine Boakye and Dzikoe Richard scored to make it 3-0 for the Royals before halftime.
Back from recess, Kotoku Royals continued to press forward, but Godfred Asiamah pulled one back for the visitors in the 63rd minute.
Just three minutes later, things went from bad to worse for King Faisal as Kotoku Royals restored their three-goal margin courtesy of Paul Abanga.
Near the end of the game, King Faisal narrowed the gap to two when Abdul Latif put the ball into the net from the spot but it was too late for them to fight back as Kotoku Royals picked the maximum points in Dawu.
The Royals are still in 18th place with 20 points – 6 points off safety. King Faisal are also in the 16th spot with 25 points in the league table.
