The technical team of Accra Hearts of Oak has dropped Richmond Ayi from the match day squad against Accra Lions FC today.
The goalkeeper has been summoned to appear before the board to answer some questions after the board chairman Togbe Afede XIV.
This comes as results of what happened in Anyinase last Saturday which the board chairman of the club Togbe Afede XIV was unhappy and summoned the technical over the incident.
Richmond Ayi has come under severe criticism on social media after showing up for their game against Karela United with his face covered in white powder.
The unusual look has raised eyebrows with some attributing it to black magic, also known as “Juju”. However, it is unknown why the goalkeeper made the decision to cover his face in powder.
Despite Ayi’s controversial appearance, Hearts of Oak were unable to secure a victory against Karela United. The struggling Karela side produced a dominant performance, clinching a 3-0 win over the Phobians at CAM Park in Aiyinase.
Emmanuel Boakye and Richard Berko scored in the 17th and 87th minute respectively for Karela United and Hearts defender Konadu Yiadom scored an own goal in the 32nd minute to condemn the Phobians to a heavy defeat.
However, the decision made will see Richard Attah and Eric Ofori Antwi takes charge of goalkeeping duty today.
Caleb Amankwah has also returned from his one-match ban following the red card against Kotoku Royals. He has joined the team as replacement for suspended Rashid Okine.
