Head coach for Legon Cities, Maxwell Konadu has reacted to their 1-1 draw with Kumasi Asante Kotoko at home on Thursday.
Legon Cities had a bright start but found themselves 1-0 down against Kotoko at half-time. Richard Boadu scored the opening goal in the 17th minute from the penalty spot. The midfielder dispatched his penalty with confidence, placing his spot-kick past goalkeeper Sylvester Sackey.
However, Maxwell Konadu’s side levelled proceedings in the 70th minute through Alex Aso.
After the game, the 50-old-year tactician was pleased with the performance of his boys. He further disclosed that it was a balanced game but the Porcupine Warriors pushed him to defend more.
“We started the game very strong and should have scored very early in the game but unfortunately we missed those opportunities. It’s a balanced game but in the second half — Kotoko pushed me back to defend more. We wanted to finish the game strongly and glad Alex Aso came to score. We will keep fighting and secure a respectable position,” says Maxwell Konadu.
The 1-1 draw leaves them in 15th place on the league table with 28 points, level on point with relegation battling sides, King Faisal and Great Olympics.
