A fan on Facebook has advised former Ghana boss, Coach James Kwesi Appiah not to work under Nana Amponsah’s administration as head coach of Asante Kotoko.
Ghanasportspage.com revealed on Tuesday that the 62-year-old trainer has committed himself to coach his former club after a secret meeting with the Chief Executive Officer.
After this publication, a fan on Facebook reacted: “Please Mr. Appiah, I know you love Kotoko with all your heart, but please don’t coach Kotoko if this arrogant and disrespectful CEO is staying with the club. He will incite his goro boys against you if you decide not to use his players.”
The current Ghanaian champions are still in search of a new coach after Coach Seydou Zerbo’s departure.
Abdulai Gazale is currently leading the Porcupine Warriors as interim manager but the CEO is believed to have held talks with with the former Black Stars trainer to become their permanent head coach.
Kwesi Appiah previously played for the the Kumasi-based club between 1983 and 1993 before being appointed as assistant coach following his retirement from football. He was subsequently promoted to serve in the role of head coach from 1995 to 1996.
