“PSG is not the club to continue your progress” – Didier Drogba tells Victor Osimhen

Former Chelsea forward, Didier Drogba has informed Napoli and Nigeria star, Victor Osimhen to shun a summer move to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Napoli striker is reportedly worth in the region of £150million to his club after smashing his 26th goal of the season in Tuesday night’s Champions League exit at the hands of AC Milan.

PSG are joined by Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea in being tipped to make a move for Osimhen this summer.

But former Blues forward Drogba does not think his career will progress with a move to France.

“If he is really in the sights of a club like PSG, it shows the full extent of his talent and the season he is having,” the 45-year-old told Canal+.

“But, PSG is not the club he needs to continue his progress.”

Drogba has become something of a mentor for Osimhen, having first contacted him after winning the Under-17 World Cup Golden Boot with Nigeria in 2015.

The 24-year-old has since revealed his idolisation of the Ivory Coast legend, who remains in contact with him to this day.

“One morning last year I woke up and checked my Instagram, and found messages to me from him, complimenting me, but saying I still had a long way to go,” he told the Daily Mail earlier this month.

“It’s amazing to be in contact with him. I try to model my game on his and there are a lot of things I can take from his game and add to my own, so there is nothing better for a young player.

“He’s a hero in his country, he’s played to the highest level, won a lot and made African youngsters dream. He’s a busy man but whenever he sees my messages on Instagram he replies immediately. It’s a great feeling.”
