Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council member, Nana Oduro Sarfo lost his temper during a post-match interview after Port City FC’s goalless draw with Okwahu United on Sunday.
Oduro Sarfo’s Port City FC hosted the former Premier League side Okwahu United on Sunday at Kukurantumi Park in the Second Division League and played out a breathless goalless.
Out investigations indicate that some supporters from both teams invade the pitch after the game, which resulted in material damage, including the inner perimeter.
However, Oduro Sarfo was typically grumpy after the game. He was heard in a trending audio insulting a journalist, calling him ‘ANIMAL’ whiles speaking in Twi.
But his reactions sound like an endorsement of hooliganism in football after he failed to condemn the actions of some of the supporter’s bad behaviour on the field.
In a post-match interview with Nkawkaw-based Republic FM Journalist, Gideon, Oduro Sarfo grew furious after being asked of what he should have done as an Executive Council Member of the GFA to curtail the unacceptable behaviour of the fans, especially those of his side Port FC. Still, the former Berekum Chelsea CEO rather turned the heat on the interviewee, extending insults to all journalists in the country.
“They should go with the point. What can Okwahu do even if they qualify? They just came to destroy things including inner perimeter because they don’t know the value of it. They wanted to spoil everything but they should continue.”
Gideon asked; ”You are an EXCO Member (of the GFA), is it acceptable to enter the pitch with weapons”, referring to the attitude of the fans and what the GFA Executive Council Member, Nana Oduro Sarfo makes of the situation. In his response, he stated;
”Did you see any weapon”? If someone takes woods and stick to invade a pitch to misbehave, I should go and seize it just because I’m EXCO Member? You journalists excuse me to say sometimes I don’t know what is wrong with your mind.
”When you are talking about something that doesn’t connect to the FA then you say I’m an EXCO Member. You are bragging I’m a journalist, what journalist? GHC350 (salary) a month is a journalist”, he mocked.
