Bankroller for GPL side, Berekum Chelsea Bernard Nana Yaw Amofa Jantuah has declared his intention to contest for the seat of the Presidency of the Ghana Football Association.
The business magnate, who has achieved an immense success through the creation and ownership of multiple lines of enterprise, has been bankrolling the Berekum-based side for some time now after purchasing majority share in the 2010/11 Ghana Premier League champions.
Since arriving on the scene, the industrialist has changed the fortunes of the club as they are currently occupying the 4th berth on the 2022/23 Ghanaian top-flight league log.
Amofa Jantuah is known within public circles as a top philanthropist and a politician who has systematically nurtured and grown his interest in the sport which has suffered dwindling fortunes under the stewardship of Kurt Okraku who was voted into office almost 4 years ago.
Report from Ghana Sports Online has disclosed that the bankroller of the Bibires is waiting in line for the Ghanaian football regulatory body to officially announce the roadmap for the elections.
Meanwhile Kurt Okraku, the incumbent President of the GFA together with the current board of the association, will see their mandate officially come to an end on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
This means fresh elections must be conducted to elect the new leadership of the football association.
