Nations FC have been promoted to the BetPawa Premier League for the first time after a hard-fought win over WAFA SC in the Access Bank Ghana Division One League match day 28.
The Abrankese-based club confirmed their historic promotion to the Ghanaian top-flight on Saturday afternoon thanks to a stunning 3-2 comeback win against the ex-Premier League side through Gariba Abubakari’s hat-trick.
Gariba was on fire as he scored three goals in a highly anticipated clash at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
Nations FC wrapped the campaign with 66 points. They lost only two games and drew six from 28 matches in Zone One of the Division One League.
Dr. Kwame Kyei’s club have become the second side to secure a place in the BetPawa Premier League this season after Kpando Heart of Lions.
Elsewhere, Bofoakwa Tano will also battle Zone One A leaders, Eleven Wonders on May 30th at the Accra Sports Stadium in the Division One League Championship playoff in their quest to qualify for the Premier League.
