The Black Satellites of Ghana fought back from a goal down to claim a 3-1 victory over lower division side, WAFA at the Accra Sports Stadium in a test match.
WAFA were in cruise control with a goal lead until Ofori MacCarthy headed home from a corner-kick to make it 1-1 before halftime.
The Ghana U-20 side were offered a lifeline in the second half to score two more goals to snatch a 3-1 victory courtesy of Jerry Afriyie and Bechem United’s Clinton Duodu.
This test match forms part of Ghana’s preparations for the Male U-20 WAFU B Cup of Nations to be played in Côte d’Ivoire.
Ghana will compete in Group A alongside Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire, Benin, Niger, Togo and Burkina Faso in the competition to be played from Friday, July 7 to Friday, June 21, 2023
The team is hoping to make amends in the competition after bowing out in the group stages of the previous edition played in Niger last year.
