Cameroonian striker, Albert Diego Dieudonne Eonde has reacted to Hearts of Oak’s alarming slump in the ongoing campaign.
The Rainbows have lagged behind since winning the BetPawa Premier League in 2021 but Albert, who joined the Rainbows in February insists the team can have a bright future if given an ample time.
Sunday’s results against Medeama SC deepened the issues at Hearts, who have endured a difficult campaign. The club made early exits from the CAF Confederations Cup and the MTN FA Cup – and lie eight in the Premier League, two points adrift of the top four.
“I didn’t start the campaign with Hearts because I came in the middle of the season. So far so good what I’ve seen is true that we haven’t been performing in our recent games but I believe with time it will be a very good team that can compete in the league, winning the league and be successful in Africa because most of us are almost new to the team, to the league and coming from different teams. I believe with time it can be a good team if these same players come together,” the 24-year-old stated in an exclusive interview with Ghanasportspage.com.
Albert is yet to register a goal in the Premier League since his arrival. Before joining the Ghanaian giants, he scored 12 goals for Dynamos FC in the Zimbabwean league.
