Former FC Sheriff Tiraspol midfielder, Mudasiru Salifu and ex-Kotoko coach, Zdravko Logarusic have been relegated from the Saudi Arabian league with Al Batin.
The team’s relegation from the league was confirmed after failing to beat Al Adalh on Saturday.
They were held to a 2-2 draw at the Al Batin Stadium in a penultimate match of the season. The results wasn’t enough to prevent them from being demoted with a game to wrap up the campaign.
The on-loan Kotoko midfielder was deployed in central defensive role during the match as he lasted the entire duration.
Al Batin, which is handled by former Asante Kotoko, King Faisal Babes, and AshantiGold SC coach Zdravko Logarusic, remains bottom of the league with 20 points from 29 games.
They were promoted to the Saudi Arabia Pro League after the 2019-2020 campaign. After three years of competing in the top-flight, the club will now return to the Saudi First Division.
Salifu joined Al Batin for the second half of the season on loan from Kotoko and has played 15 matches so far in the season.
